Wisdom!!!

To start with, what is wisdom? According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, “Wisdom is the natural ability to understand things that most other people cannot understand.”

Wisdom is undeniably a distinguishing factor that separates greatness from mediocrity according to researchers and therefore cannot be overemphasized.

Unfortunately, it’s been befuddled, to say the least, as both religious and secular circles overused the word to drive home their points.

So, I would juxtapose facts from both the Holy scripture called, “The Bible“ where the word is largely used and contemporary literary text.

How are both Godly wisdom and Worldly wisdom gained?

Godly wisdom also is known as religious wisdom, according to writings the King Solomon of the ancient Israel’s nation who was widely respected as the wisest king ever lived on planet earth described its attainment as:

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverb 1:7 NKJV)

“Happy are those who reject the advice of evil people, who do not follow the example of sinners or join those who have no use for God…” Psalm 1:1 GNB)

In addition, from the above, Godly wisdom can be found only among those who have use for God i.e. those who believe in the existence of God and follow his commandments.

“To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. (Proverb 8:12 NKJV)

Having said that, Worldly wisdom is gained through formal, informal education and experiences acquired over a period of time according to wikiHow https://m.wikihow.com.

Therefore, Worldly wisdom is stacked against Godly wisdom. However, one is not far from the truth by saying the former is possessed through following one’s impulses and emotions.

Bringing it home, Worldly wisdom is self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-worth associated with motivation speakers to captivate their audiences. Thus, they are not from the above but earthly.

Finally, such people who exercise freedom on every matter without restraints and outside God’s laws belong to Worldly wisdom circles while those who take their actions inside God’s laws and reference for him belong to Godly wisdom circle.

So, the choice must be adhered to in determining who you listen to in your decisions.
